Olive harvest 2025, here is the new oil!

We call it novello , a term actually reserved for wine, but we should define it as fresh, an adjective that better suits the extra virgin olive oil from Nocellara del Belice in the first months after pressing.

 

The Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Nocellara del Belice has an intense golden green color with golden yellow and golden reflections, the taste is full, slightly spicy and fruity with a mild almond aftertaste, the intoxicating scent of freshly crushed olives that also recalls hints of grass and nature. The Nocellara Oil stands out for its top-quality characteristics: maximum acidity of 0.60%, medium density, low fats that bring its smoke point to over 200 degrees. Its natural acidity and very low fat content make it an ideal product for a healthy diet, widely used in the Mediterranean diet it is used for dressings, frying, and recipes of all kinds.

 

These properties make the oil from Nocellara del Belice a superior category Extra Virgin Olive Oil (olive oil is obtained from the direct pressing of olives and solely by mechanical processes), and believe it or not, it is also a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, its high concentration of Polyphenols allows it to counteract free radicals (responsible for aging), and some even use it as an emollient for skin and hair. Furthermore, we would like to emphasize that the Sicilian Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Nocellara has for several years received two very important designations, in fact it is a Sicilian DOP oil ("Protected Designation of Origin") and as Sicilian IGP oil ("Typical Geographical Indication"), and is produced exclusively in the Valley of Belice.
